I could tell you a good story about the warden in my town refusing to let a dead prisoner (denied medical care) be declared dead in the prison. He forced the paramedics to "start" an IV even though rigor mortis had set in, and to take him to the ER, where he was declared dead ... so the guy didn't die in prison, legally.

It was a travesty.
