I COMPLETELY get it. I thought for sure, after working as a newspaper editor with tons of experience and responsibility, some other entity would want me to write for them. I was brimming with confidence. But at one interview (copywriter for an insurance company) I was asked if I had ever been required to meet deadlines. GOD DAMMIT YOU MORON, I HAVE BEEN MEETING A DOZEN DEADLINES A DAY FOR DECADES, I wanted to shout. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT KNOW A NEWSPAPER EDITOR IS BASICALLY THE MOST DEADLINE-RIDDEN JOB THAT HAS EVER EXISTED?
I said none of these things, but my face probably did, and I did NOT get that job!
