I can’t afford to eat out but like to cook. I think I mentioned before that all the hot new recipes just strike me as exclusionary now. There’s always some obscure spice — one grind of fermented Mongolian pepper or something— and I’ve noped out of this. I make good peasant food instead. We like our soup and pasta and salads and bread. They’re simple and good and inexpensive.
