When they stopped, her doctor would switch to a different drug or drug combo. Delaying new drugs meant more growth of tumors. In the end, it meant less life for Ana. I don’t know how many weeks or months Ana lost because she didn’t have immediate access to a given medication, but thinking about it is enough to make me want to weep and curse inside my local CVS.
