I breastfed from December 1989 to about spring of 1996 (two kids). I think my breasts look much like any woman of my age and size. I highly doubt they'd look much different if I hadn't nursed or had kids. Time and gravity are not our friends. Go swimming with a childless friend your age and you'll see.

To all future moms: I had an easy time nursing primarily because I was extremely well-prepared, having attended LLL and local parenting groups and having read a bunch of books. The internet was essentially not around when I needed to learn all this stuff -- it's much easier now. There's a matter of luck involved, too, certainly.

My daughter had a similarly easy time because, being my daughter, she was also very well prepared. It truly makes a big difference. But I will say more moms are able to nurse with few problems and for as long as they'd like now than in my day, and a lot of it is due to the changes my generation fought like hell for. All the things I had trouble getting when I gave birth were just the way things were done when my daughter gave birth.

Also? Summer underboob sweat will always be a thing for anybody above a B or C cup, mom or not. Get some Lume and you'll never develop any kind of funk. Seriously. The stuff does everything they claim it does. But if you're having that level of extreme moistness, fold a piece of absorbent cotton and tuck it in there. Maybe cut up an old cloth diaper or white flour sack towel to the appropriate dimensions.
