I am not an expert on it, but I do think it would be helpful. I have read study after study that shows giving money to poor people actually works. Almost all of us would still choose to work in some fashion. And as my son pointed out, if somebody really doesn't want to work, then get him/her out of the way. Forcing such people to be in the workplace makes it worse for everyone.
