He could maybe get that. But if he had to support himself on it (he had a good career and likely has a comfortable nest egg) he’d realize the futility of working PT for minimum-ish wage. He’d have to go looking for something else, and that would likely be much harder for him to get.
Moreover, isn’t it interesting that HE doesn’t want to work anymore? Why are his reasons for not wanting to work anymore more valid than those of someone who has young kids, is suffering from a mental illness, has elderly parents they look after, or has given up because they have no good work options?
Sorry. The guy has no idea how much his comment pissed me off! :)
