Have you read the book The WEIRDest People in the World? I would really like to hear your thoughts on it.

I consider it one of the best and most intriguing books I've ever read, right up there with Guns, Germs and Steel.

The books addresses what happened in various societies when a handful of men had large numbers of female partners (harems etc) and the average man had little chance of marrying.
