Hamburgers, automobiles and clothing have been handled via assembly line for a long time. It was inevitable that someone would decide we should prepare bodies that way, too.
It used to be an art, performed by someone in your community who probably knew your loved one. Now it's just line 'em up and ship 'em out. I am sure this way is more "efficient" and profitable. We have to make more money per body!
If we could get people to agree to hold the funeral a bit later, we could probably ship everybody's body to another country where the processing could be even cheaper, thus making the funeral industry a little more profit.
Ugh. It's awful, isn't it?
