Property taxes are high where I live, such that I’m concerned about being able to afford them in my older age. However, I’d sell my house, not lose it. And my house is already about as cheap as a house can be, so there is no easy answer. Once I’ve paid off my house, I’ll still have to come up with 300-plus bucks for taxes and insurance. Paying it off will save me some money but there will still be a burden.
