Give this a try: https://www.helpareporter.com/
And then with every news story, add quote and link to your Amazon page.
Send press release to every reporter who has written about this recently or who works this beat. Intro yourself. Set up google alert for key phrases and follow up. It’s gonna be a lot of work. The more you do RIGHT NOW while book is fresh matters.
Have a local event about safety. Gather local stats. Invite people/organizations who advocate for safety. Invite press but also make your own videos and send them out afterwards.
Find people with compelling stories (I assume many are in your book) and see if they’ll agree to also be interviewed. Add this info to your press kit. Follow every LGBTQ-covering reporter on Twitter. Interact about this topic. Make sure you’re holding your book in your social pics
