Germany is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY. I am guessing you don’t really understand what things are like in the U.S. I’m married to a European so I see the differences.
BTW, your worst-case examples muddy your argument. People making much better choices than the ones you list are still likely to suffer economically.
And you will never catch me dumping my hard-earned money into rent. In 2025 I expect to be mortgage-free despite having very modest means — thanks to purchasing my first house when I was 24.
