Everything you say is true. I would only add that every woman who isn’t having a medically necessary planned surgical birth needs a doula and midwife present! While women of color are most affected, EVERY birthing woman is affected.
I was with my daughter as a lay doula as she gave birth naturally in a hospital. Wonderful experiences! She had the births I hoped to have but didn’t.
