A few years ago, I noticed it was almost impossible to think of a good present for my son. He reads voraciously, but only online. He plays video games, but not the type I bought when he was a kid -- now it's all subscriptions. He gets his music from Pandora or Spotify. He streams movies. He just plain does not own hardly anything. In some ways, this is very good. But in others, well, I'm glad my house is stuffed full of books and music I own.
