A colleague brought in a VR set once, years ago, where I used to work. I could not make myself step off the high building even though I knew I was really in a conference room. I also struggle to step onto the glass projection on the Sears Tower in Chicago, even though it's obviously safe. I can just barely force myself to do it, briefly. I felt extreme discomfort walking around in a 747 mounted in take-off mode way in the air at a museum in Germany. I knew the damned thing was fine but I still struggled to walk through it. One part of my brain does not trust the other part of my brain.
